BATON ROUGE, La. -
Ameshya Williams and
Dayzsha Rogan went for 14 points each in Monday's 72-51 thrashing against Southern in Baton Rouge.
The win was the Lady Tigers' fourth conference win in a row to begin the 2020 SWAC schedule. The Blue and White improved to 6-8 overall and 4-0 in conference play.
Williams also provided nine rebounds, eight defensive and one offensive, and four blocks.
Three Tigers finished with nine rebounds, Williams,
Kaisah Lucky, and
Sumer Williams.
Lucky and (Sumer) Williams collected 10 points and eight points, respectively.
Marneisha Hamer put together a stellar outing against Southern with 11 points and five rebounds.
Jackson State, as a team, went 22-of-47 from field-goal territory and 5-of-12 from three-point land.
The Lady Tigers outrebounded the Jaguars 35 to 31 and had 28 points in the paint, 33 bench points, and 16 fast-break points.
JSU returns to action on Saturday, Jan. 18, in a home matchup versus Texas Southern at 3 p.m.
