Jackson State put together 24 points in the paint while Texas Southern had 34 under the rim.
JSU shot 25-of-64 (39.1 percent) from the field and added 31 rebounds.

SWAC Player of the Week
Roland Griffin, was named the SWAC player of the week last week by the conference office.
Griffin finished with back-to-back double-doubles versus Alabama A&M and Alcorn State.
The Aurora, Ill. native tallied a total of 39 points, 22 rebounds, seven assists, one block and one steal for the week, including 12 points and 10 rebounds in the loss to Alabama A&M and 27 points, 12 rebounds, and six assists in Saturdays win over Alcorn State.
Since returning to the Tigers lineup on Dec. 16 versus Southeastern Baptist College, Griffin has managed to score in double-digits for all eight games he has played in.
Griffin currently sits in second on the team with 16.6 points per game and in rebounds with 7.6 rpg.
Top 10 Opponents
Throughout the 2019-20 season, the Tigers have faced off against two top 10 teams: No. 6 Baylor and No. 9 Memphis each back in the month of December. The Tigers were competitive against both teams but ultimately fell in each contest.
Last Time Versus Prairie View A&M (Feb. 16, 2019)
Four student-athletes scored in double-digits as JSU came out on the wrong end of a 79-66 defeat versus Prairie View A&M.
Lemmie Howard dropped a team-high 17 points on 6-of-11 shooting from the floor. The 6-foot-7 forward also went 2-of-4 from 3-point range.
Venjie Wallis scored 14 points and grabbed nine rebounds in 39 minutes of action. Wallis also went 2-of-3 from beyond the arc.
Chris Howell posted 12 points and hauled in 11 rebounds to notch the double-double. The senior also handed out six assists.
Jayveous McKinnis added 10 points on 4-of-4 shooting from the field.
As a team, JSU shot 47.8 percent (22-of-46) from the field, including a blistering 50 percent (12-of-24) in the second half.
The Tigers also forced the Panthers into 11 turnovers, which was turned into 25 points.
Scouting Prairie View A&M
Prairie View A&M comes to town with an overall record of 7-10 and 3-1 in SWAC play with wins over Alcorn State (84-70), Southern (64-54), and a win Saturday over Grambling (64-57).
Prairie View's lone loss in the SWAC came in a 71-67 defeat at Texas Southern on January 11.

The Panthers have three student-athletes averaging more than double-digit points per game.
