JACKSON, Miss. - Tristan Jarrett led Jackson State with 16 total points on 6-of-17 shooting from the field in the Tigers 66-57 loss to Alabama A&M in conference play.
Jackson State had two players finish with double-doubles in Jarrett and
Roland Griffin.
Jarrett tallied a team-high 12 rebounds on the night in 31 minutes of play to earn his first double-double of the season.
Griffin finished second on the team with 12 points and 10 rebounds.
Jonas James had a stellar night with 14 points on 5-of-7 shooting and three free throws made.
As a team, JSU was 21-of-53 shooting with 40 rebounds, 26 points in the paint, and 19 points.
The Tigers also received 21 points off the bench.
The loss set the Blue and White back to 4-11 overall and 1-1 in SWAC play. Alabama A&M improved to 4-9 and 1-1 in conference.
JSU hits the road for a conference matchup on Saturday with Alcorn State beginning at 5:30 p.m. in Lorman, Miss.Â
