Tigers Slip at Bradley in Thursday Night Matchup

PEORIA, Ill. - The Jackson State men's basketball team fell to Bradley on Thursday night in non-conference play by a final score of 83-60.

The Tigers had two players that scored 20+ in the contest with Tristan Jarrett and Jayveous McKinnis pacing the way with 22 and 21 points scored on the night each.

Bradley controlled the game from the beginning, jumping out to a 22-13 lead in the first ten minutes of play. Bradley took a 42-27 lead into the break. 

The Braves went on outscore the Tigers 41-33 in the second half to ultimately defeat Jackson State by a final score of 83-60.

McKinnis came just short of his third consecutive double-double, finishing with 21 points and 9 rebounds. McKinnis also had two steals and one block. 

Tristan Jarrett had a team high 22 points on the night. Jarrett also had five rebounds and a team best four steals. 

Ken Evans finished 3-of-6 for nine points in 27-minutes of action. As a team, the Tigers shot 21-of-56 from the field with 28 team rebounds and 24 points in the paint. 

With the loss Jackson State fell to 0-4 in non-conference play. Jackson State returns to the court on Sunday with a road matchup at Iowa State, in Ames, Iowa. Tip-off is set for 12 p.m. on the campus of Iowa State.
