Lady Tigers Score 103 In Fifty Point Win Over MVSU

JACKSON, Miss. - The Jackson State Lady Tigers compiled 103 points in a fifty point win Saturday evening, winning 103-53 over Mississippi Valley State.

The Lady Tigers were led by Dayzsha Rogan who was 9-of-17 from the field with 26 points. Rogan also tallied four 3-pointers (4-of-9) and five rebounds.

Kristy Parker scored 14 points on 6-of-14 shooting. Parker has scored 10+ in the last two games after averaging nearly two points a game in the first 23 games of the season.

Reigning SWAC Player of the Week, Ameshya Williams, was a perfect 5-for-5 on the night with 11 points in limited action.

Cherelle Jones tallied 11 points on 5-of-6 shooting including six rebounds. J'Niya Tallie has seven assists including back-to-back no look assists that result in two Elexis Peyton buckets. Peyton has eight points in the game.

Jackson State shot 42-of-74 (56.8 percent) as a team including earning 44 points off of the bench.  JSU made nine 3-pointers in the contest and managed to score 56 points in the paint and 35 points off of turnovers.

Jackson State improved to 16-9 overall and a conference best 14-1. 

The Lady Tigers return to the court Monday with a conference matchup against Arkansas-Pine Bluff. Tip-off is scheduled for 5:30 p.m.
