JACKSON, Miss. - The Jackson State men's basketball team is heading to the 2020 SWAC Semifinals after a 69-52 win against Alcorn State Tuesday night.
Four Tigers scored 10+ in the contest with
Roland Griffin leading the way with 19 points. Griffin also led the team with 11 rebounds.
Tristan Jarrett had 16 points along with four rebounds in nearly 30 minutes of action.
Venjie Wallis scored 11 points of 5-of-12 shooting, leading JSU with four assists and three steals.Â
Jonas James tallied 10 points with two assists and one steal.
Jayveous McKinnis had four points, four rebounds, and three solo blocks.
The Tigers finished 27-of-52 shooting as a team, while out rebounding Alcorn 34-30.
The Tigers never trailed in the contest, leading for 39:33 in the games 40 minutes. The Tigers led by as many as 25 points with 6:17 left in the second half.
In the last forty minutes of play, viral sensation Thomas "Snacks" Lee made yet another appearance, generating a buzz from the crowd as this time he made his appearance in the SWAC Tournament.
Jackson State will advance to the Semis which will be played Friday in Birmingham, Ala.Â
