SAFETY PROTOCOLS AT THE AAC
The Athletics and Assembly Center will have a physically distanced, limited capacity of approximately 800 in attendance.
"The health and safety of everyone associated with Jackson State Athletics and our guests will be of top importance," said JSU Vice President and Director of Athletics
Ashley Robinson. "Our objective is to make everybody feel comfortable that extensive safety protections have been taken for the return to the AAC."
Safety protocols at the Athletics and Assembly Center, include implementation of thorough NCAA and SWAC reopening guidelines and protocols for venue health and safety along with a combined effort on multiple fronts for a return with a limited number of fans in attendance.
Season ticket holders and members of Thee AD Club will be given first priority and a small amount of single game tickets are available.
Those efforts include:
- Physically distanced seating
- Mandatory face coverings
- Pre-arrival symptom and exposure survey
- Testing for those in-close proximity to the court
- Deep and constant cleaning in high-traffic areas of the building with disinfectant, including on point of purchase devices, door handles, elevator buttons, and restrooms
- The addition of hand sanitizer stations throughout the arena
- Displaying diverse health & safety messaging throughout arena
- Upon entry, all staff are temperature screened, must wear face coverings and use hand sanitizer

Season passes are $60 and single basketball games can be purchased for $20.
GAME 8 RECAP: JACKSON STATE 106 | MISSISSIPPI VALLEY STATE 56
The Jackson State men's basketball team smoothly rose to victory over Mississippi Valley State Saturday evening by a final score of 106-56. The Tiger's dominated early within the first minutes of the game, significantly maintaining the lead and finishing the half 42-18.
Tristan Jarrett co-led the half with eight points while
Jayveous McKinnis led as well with eight points, 11 rebounds, and 2-2 from the field. Freshman
Ken Evans also contributed seven points in the first half. Following the break, Jarrett and McKinnis continued to lead the team attributing the most points to the score and rebounds, respectively. The Tiger's effortlessly kept the lead well over 20 points the majority of the second half and pushed the score into triple digits with a three-pointer at the 1:22 mark from
Jalani Bell. The score solidified the contest, defeating Valley by a final score 106-56 to give the Tigers a fifty point win. The energy picked up within the last three minutes of the game with a notable dunk from
Darryl Jordan and a three pointer from Evans. Evans finished the game with 14 points, 5-of-6 from the free throw line, and two assists. JSU transfer
Isaiah Williams held his own throughout the game as well, contributing 12 total points, while finishing 6-of-9 from the free throw line. As a team, the Tiger's totaled 38 points from the paint, 42 points from the bench, and had 46 fast break points. The Tigers improve to 3-5 overall on the season and 3-0 in the SWAC.

The Jackson State Tigers sent it's seniors out on top, winning their final home game in a Tiger jersey by a final score of 76-56 for the last time at the Lee E. Williams Athletics & Assembly Center. The seniors were all smiles, but one senior in particular had another reason to be smiling. Thomas "Snacks" Lee, Jackson State's student manager for the past few seasons, was given a chance to wear a Tiger jersey for the first time in what was the Tigers final game at home. With roars of "WE WANT SNACKS" echoing through the crowd, No. 35 got off the bench, walked his way to the scores table, and subbed into his first ever collegiate basketball game. With two minutes left in the game, Snacks took to the court, nearly grabbing a rebound in his first few seconds. He put up three shots from three point range, but were unsuccessful. It was his fourth three-point attempt from behind the arc that was met with an uproar of excitement from the crowd, as the sound of a perfect swoosh was echoed throughout the Lee E. Williams Athletics & Assembly Center. His final stat line concluded with 1-of-4 shots made and three points off the three-pointer as he played in the final two minutes of the game. He and the Tigers have now won two straight games, improving to 12-17 overall and 9-7 in SWAC play. Three Tigers finished with double-digits in the contest, with
Roland Griffin tallying 21 points to lead the team.
Tristan Jarrett had 16 points and
Venjie Wallis had 14 points. Griffin also led the team with seven rebounds while Wallis had six rebounds.
Jonas James had a team-best seven assists and was tied with
Dontelius Ross with three steals. As a team the Tigers shots 25-of-51 from the field, knocking down 6-of-16 shots from three-point territory. The Tigers also out rebounded UAPB 28-25.
JACKSON STATE LEADERS
The Tigers have produced three 10+ point scorers on the season with
Tristan Jarrett leading the way with 19.0 points scored per game. Jarrett also leads the team with 16 steals and is averaging 5.5 rebounds per game. McKinnis has totaled four double-doubles. The Preseason Defensive Player of the Year for the SWAC ranks second on the team with 13.8 points per game and 12.6 rebounds per game. His numbers in rebounds ranks second nationally per game. McKinnis also leads the Tigers with 15 blocks on the season.
