STARKVILLE, Miss. - The Jackson State baseball team fell in non-conference action Wednesday night on the road to No. 5 Mississippi State by a final score of 7-3.
The Tigers added runs in the sixth, seventh, and ninth inning but came up short to the nationally ranked Bulldogs. The Tigers finished with three runs on two hits as the Blue and White fell to 0-4 on the season.
Chandler Dillard went 1-for-4 at the plate with one run batted in the contest with
Wesley Reyes adding the other lone hit for the Tigers, on his way to finishing 1-for-3 at the plate
Nikelle Galatas took the loss for JSU, going 4.0 innings on the mound while giving up three earns runs one six hits. Galatas fell to 0-2 on the season overall.
Jackson State returns to the diamond on Friday for the Tigers home opener versus Arkansas-Pine Bluff. First pitch for JSU is set for 6 p.m. at Braddy Field.
