GAME  10 RECAP: ALCORN STATE (JSU 74 | ALCORN 66)
The Jackson State men's basketball team improved to 5-0 in SWAC play Saturday afternoon with a 74-66 win over Alcorn. The Tigers jumped out and took control of the contest early in the game, reaching a 14 point lead with just five minutes left until the break. The Braves were able to cut the JSU lead down to six points as JSU took a 39-33 lead into the half. At the break, Jonas James and Tristan Jarrett led with nine points a piece, respectively, as they helped pace the Tigers offensively. Jackson State maintained their lead in the second half, taking control and ultimately putting the Braves away on the scoreboard with a final score of 74-66. Jarrett led JSU with 21 points on 7-of-16 shooting of from the field. He also had six rebounds, three assists, and one blocked shot. James finished with 19 points on 6-of-9 shooting. Ken Evans posted 10 points on the afternoon, knocking down 2-of-3 from three point range. Evans also had three assists, and two steals. Jayveous McKinnis finished the night with eight points, 15 rebounds, and three blocked shots. As a team JSU shot, 24-of-48 from the field, while knocking down 9-of-21 from three point territory. Jackson State led for all but 12-seconds in the contest as they improved to 5-5 overall and 5-0 in SWAC play.

LAST OUTING VERSUS SOUTHERN FEBRUARY 10, 2020 (JSU 67 | SU 51)
The Jackson State men's basketball team continued to excel on the court, this time time defeating Southern on ESPNU by a final score of 67-51. The win marked the fifth straight win for the Blue and White, improving to 10-14 overall and 7-4 in conference play.  Once again, Jackson State was led by it's top two scorers, Tristan Jarrett and Roland Griffin as they nearly eclipsed 20+ points for the second game in a row.  Jarrett led all scorers with 22 points on 9-of-21 shooting, while Griffin was 4-of-10 and a perfect 10-of-10 from the free throw line to end the night with 18 points. Griffin finished tied for a team-high seven rebounds along with Jayveous McKinnis who tallied seven boards and three points. Cainan McClelland and Dontelius Ross had five rebounds and Venjie Wallis collected six points. The Tigers shot 41.2% (21-of-51)  from the field and 22-of-27 from the free throw line.

Jarrett also leads the team with 18 steals and is averaging 6.3 rebounds per game. Jayveous McKinnis ranks second on the team with 12.8 points per game and 12.9 rebounds per game, which ranks second nationally per game. McKinnis also leads the Tigers with 18 blocks on the season. Isaiah Williams ranks third with 9.3 points per game and 5.3 rebounds per game.
