Box Score JACKSON, Miss. - The Jackson State Lady Tigers volleyball team improved to 2-0 on the season with a 3-0 sweep of Alcorn State in Monday night's home opener.
Jackson State won set one by a final score of 3-0, handing Alcorn a first set defeat of 25-14, before defeating the Lady Braves in sets two (25-14) and three (25-19).
The Lady Tigers were led by freshman,
Alexis Williams who finished with 10 kills and four digs in the contest.
Jylen Whitten had 14 kills and a team best 11 digs on the night while
Alana Washington and Dekyra Dennis each had seven digs.
Jordan Jones had four kills in the contest and
Taila Gaines had four kills.
As a team, JSU had 37 kills, nine service aces, and four blocks. The Lady Tigers return to the court next Sunday at Arkansas-Pine Bluff in Pine-Bluff, Arkansas.
