BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Southwestern Athletic Conference has named Jackson State's Jayveous McKinnis its SWAC Men's Basketball Impact Player of the Week for his outstanding performances during games played Feb. 6-8.

McKinnis (Brandon, Miss.) contributed 23 points and 30 rebounds in two games at Alcorn State and Southern, respectively, including a 15 point, 15 rebound, and three block performance during the Tigers' Monday night win versus Southern on ESPNU.

McKinnis went 7-for-7 from the free throw line highlighted by the game clinching free throws to give JSU its best start in conference play since the 1992-93 season.
