Women's Volleyball Dennis Driscoll, JSU Associate Athletic Director

Jackson State Sweeps Mississippi Valley State in Opening Round of SWAC Championship

Box Score BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – No. 1 seeded Jackson State rolled past No. 8 seed Mississippi Valley State 25-10, 25-18, and 25-13 in the opening round of the Southwestern Athletic Conference Volleyball Championship.
 
SWAC Freshman of the Year Alexis Williams finished with a game-high 10 kills to go along with a .412 hitting percentage. Jylen Whitten added eight kills and Jordan Jones finished with seven kills. Camry Dabney contributed six kills and an exceptional .667 hitting percentage
 
DeKyra Dennis finished with a game-high 18 assists, while Damassy Thompson added 10 assists.
 
Marina Bianchi Brito was a factor in front of the net and added three blocks to go with four kills.
 
The Lady Tigers advance to the semifinals of the SWAC championship and will play Southern/Grambling Saturday at 2 p.m.
