ULM Bests Jackson State in Thursday Night Double-Header

Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 JACKSON, Miss. - The Jackson State Lady Tigers softball team took on Louisiana-Monroe Thursday night in a non-conference double-header with the Warhawks of ULM claiming a 10-0 win in game one and a 10-5 in extra innings in game two.

Despite falling in game one, the Lady Tigers responded with a solid outing in the second game of the night. Jackson State took an early 2-0 lead and maintained their lead throughout the late innings on the contest. However both teams, tied at 3-3, would need extra innings to solve the game two thriller. ULM busted out seven runs in the top half of the eighth inning, taking a 10-3 lead with one last chance to bat for the Lady Tigers.

Jackson State pushed two runs across the board in the bottom half of the eighth inning, yet came up shy, falling by a final score of 10-5 in game two. Jackson State fell to 10-17 overall on the season with the nonconference loss tonight. JSU returns to the diamond on Saturday for the first game of a three game series with Alabama A&M. First pitch is set for 5 p.m. CST at the JSU Softball Complex.
