MOBILE, ALA - The Jackson State men's basketball team looks to get back into the win column as they will play in the inaugural Bridge Builder Classic against Grambling State on Saturday, January 29 inside the Mitchell Center on the campus of South Alabama at 4:00 p.m. CT.
JSU dropped their last contest this past Monday in a 67-64 loss to Florida A&M. The Tigers finished with three in double figures with
Jayveous McKinnis leading the way recording his ninth double-double on the season with 11 points, 13 rebounds, and he also recorded 3 blocks.
Justin Brown playing in his second game of the season as he finished with 13 points off the bench.
Jonas James III chipped in 12 points.
McKinnis is averaging 12.2 points and 10.0 rebounds per game (13th in the NCAA). He also ranks 14th in the NCAA in double-doubles this season.
Grambling State enters the week in third in the SWAC. GSU has reeled off five conference victories over Prairie View, Bethune-Cookman, Southern, Mississippi Valley, and UAPB in their last outing, winning 76-65 at home.
A two-headed scoring monster in Cameron Christon and Tra'Michael Moton has led them. Christon is averaging 12.6 points and Moton is averaging 10.4 points per game.
JSU leads the all-time series with Grambling State, 18-9, having won two straight including a win last season 63-59.
