MBB Preview: Jackson State at UAPB

PINE BLUFF, ARK - Jackson State looks to complete its road swing when they battle UAPB in Pine Bluff on Monday night at 7:30 p.m. CT inside H.O. Clemmons Arena.

After dropping four of its last five league games, the Tigers (5-16, 3-7 SWAC) were able to get back into the win column with a win over Mississippi Valley State 69-65 on Saturday. 

Terence Lewis II led the team with 28 points and 10 rebounds. Jamarcus Jones recorded his first double-double on the season with 12 points and 10 rebounds. Jonas James III finished with 10 points and eight assists followed by Ken Evans Jr. who chipped in 8 points and also grabbed 10 rebounds. 

Jayveous McKinnis leads the Tigers averaging 12.2 points and 10.2 rebounds per game. 

UAPB (5-18, 3-7 SWAC) has dropped their three of its last four including a most recent loss to Alcorn State at home on Saturday, 70-64. 

The Golden Lions are anchored in scoring by three double digit scorers in Shawn Williams (14.8), Dequan Morris (14.5), and Kylen Milton (11.0). 

JSU leads the all-time series over UAPB dating back to the 2010-11 season, 15-6. The two teams last played during the 2020-21 season when the Tigers picked up a pair of wins over the Golden Lions by scores of 64-58 and 74-62.
 
The Tigers are 4-5 all-time versus the Golden Lions in Pine Bluff with the last victory coming in 2020.
