Women's Basketball Completes Undefeated SWAC Schedule With 118-Point Outburst

Clinching history in style, the Jackson State University women's basketball team punctuated an undefeated record in Southwestern Athletic Conference play with a 118-57 home win over Mississippi Valley State.

Jackson State (20-6 overall, 18-0 SWAC) won its 31st straight conference game, and surpassed Prairie View A&M (2009) and Southern (2002), teams that each went 17-1 in league play.

Jackson State, the three-time regular season champion, will face #8 Arkansas Pine Bluff Wednesday at 5:30 p.m. in the Cricket SWAC Tournament.

Ameysha Williams-Holliday led five players in double figures with 20 points and 10 rebounds, her 19th double-double of the season. Dayzsha Rogan also added 20 points with five rebounds. Ti'lan Boler came off the bench to score 15 points, and LaMircle Sims and Deja Woodard each scored 10.

All 13 players who played scored for Jackson State, which shot 53 percent from the field (42-80), including seven of 18 from the three-point line, and outrebounded Valley 64-37.

Leading 21-5 after one quarter, JSU went full throttle in the second quarter in outscoring Valley 37-17 to take a 58-22 halftime lead.

In outscoring MVSU 24-19 in the third quarter to lead 82-41, the Lady Tigers were literally on fire in the final quarter. JSU shot 14 of 17 from the field in outscoring Valley 37-17 in the period.
