JACKSON, Miss.| The Jackson State University women's soccer team dropped its home opener, 2-0, to North Alabama Friday afternoon at the JSU Soccer Field.
With a rainy start to the match, Jackson State (0-1) started out aggressive on defense holding the Lions scoreless in the first half. The Tigers shot three times in the first half, including an on-target shot by
Maya-Joy Thompson that was called back for offsides.

North Alabama scored early in the second half and again at the end of the game.
Tionna Taylor suffered the loss for the Tigers at the goalkeeper position.

UP NEXT
The Tigers will continue their home campaign with a match against Southern Utah on Sunday. Kickoff is set for noon at the JSU Soccer Field.
