LOS ANGELES - Ken Evans Jr. scored a career-high 33 points, but the Jackson State men's basketball team fell to the Loyola Marymount Lions 88-66 on the road Tuesday night inside Gersten Pavilion.
Evans Jr. added five rebounds and two steals to accompany his 33-point game to lead the Tigers (0-4). Jordan O'Neal scored 10 points, and Keiveon Hunt chipped in with four points and two steals coming off the bench.
Jackson State forced 13 Loyola Marymount turnovers while committing 12 themselves in Tuesday's game. The Tigers turned those takeaways into 11 points on the offensive end of the floor. Evans Jr.'s two steals led the way for the Tigers.
HOW IT HAPPENED
Jackson State struggled out of the gate, falling behind 40-24 heading into halftime.
After intermission, Jackson State kept the Lions from increasing their lead before going on a 12-0 run to shrink the deficit to 56-52 with 10:26 to go in the contest.LMU responded and outscored the Tigers the rest of the way, ending the game with a final score of 88-66.
