The Jackson State baseball team will host Rust College in a Tuesday doubleheader beginning at 3 p.m. at Braddy Field.

The Tigers (17-12 overall, 4-8 SWAC) took the opening game of last weekend's three-game Southwestern Athletic Conference series at Florida A&M. Tuesday's contests against Rust will be the final home game before Jackson State embarks on a seven-game road trip with conference series at Alabama State (April 14-16) and at Alabama A&M (April 21-23) sandwiched around a midweek contest at Southeastern La. (April 18).
Ty Hill leads the SWAC and ranks 16th in the nation in batting average (.430), leads the conference and ranks fifth in the country in on-base percentage (.556), leads the SWAC in on-base plus slugging% (1.276), is second in the league in slugging% (.720), and leads the league in doubles (14/17th in NCAA). Hill is also tied for fifth in hits (43), tied for third in triples (three), has tied a career-high in home runs (three), is tied for 11th in runs scored (30), and is tied fifth in RBI (32).
Nationally, the Tigers ranked ninth in scoring (9.3 runs per game), 10th in triples (14), 16th in total runs (271), 19th in on-base percentage (.422), and 23rd in walks (180)
Rust (15-16, 9-3 GCAC) is coming off a series win at Dillard and is in first place in the Gulf Coast Athletic Conference.
