JACKSON, Miss. | Jackson State hits the road for a key Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) series against Alabama A&M in Huntsville (Ala.) beginning Friday.
 
First pitch for the series is at 1 p.m. on Friday, April 19, and will conclude with a doubleheader starting at noon on Saturday.
 
Jackson State (25-13, 12-5 SWAC) looks to keep pace with Florida A&M who is currently two games ahead in the win column heading into the weekend. The Tigers are also one game ahead in the loss column of Bethune-Cookman and two games ahead of Alabama State in the East Division.
 
They are led by Jace Jackson at the plate hitting .366 with 15 extra-base hits and 31 RBI, while Mari Stephens is hitting .304 with 10 extra-base hits. Stephens has scored 30 runs this season and has recorded 26 stolen bases in 28 attempts. Meanwhile, Ka'Liyah Gipson is hitting .294 with 24 stolen bases in 25 chances.
