NEW ORLEANS La.| The Jackson State women's tennis team advanced to the Southwestern Athletic (SWAC) tennis semifinals after defeating Prairie View A&M in its quarterfinals matchup Friday morning.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Tigers opened the match securing the doubles point with two 6-1 victories from Tyra-Nicole Whyte and Paula Corbalan, and Isabel Benavides and Chiara Desia.
- Zeina Shaaban registered the first singles victory defeating Francesca Duca 6-0, 6-3.
- Zofia Dziewiecka topped Amaya Bobadilla 6-1, 6-2 to give the Tigers a 3-1 advantage in the matchup.
- Paula Corbalan sealed the victory after a hard fought 6-4, 6-3 win as the Tigers advanced to the seminfinals round.
UP NEXT
The Tigers will face Alabama State in the semifinals Saturday morning at 9 a.m. at City Park Tennis Center in New Orleans, Louisiana.
