CONWAY, Ark.| The Jackson State volleyball team fell in its final two match of the Central Arkansas Invitational fallign to North Alabama in its first match of the day then to Central Arkansas to close out Saturday afternoon. JSU gave up a four-set loss in game one to the Lions (16-25, 15-25, 29-27, 16-25). The Tigers were retired in three sets by the host team (24-26, 19-25, 4-25).

How It Happened

• Jackson State fell behind early, dropping a tough first set 25-16.
• JSU trailed by as many as nine points as North Alabama grabbed the advantage for good at 10-9 in a set that was tied up nine times before the Lions took control.
• The Tigers fell again in set two 25-15, digging a 2-0 hole in the match.
• Jackson State trailed by as many as 10 points as North Alabama grabbed the advantage for good at 3-2 in a set that was tied up five times before the Lions took over the lead.
• JSU got on the board after a win in set three to make it a 2-1 match.
• Impressive serving helped the Tigers win the set 29-27.
• Jackson State notched five aces in the third set victory.
• After the lead changed hands four times, the Tigers took control for good at 28-27 and rode that advantage to victory.
• The Tigers racked up 18 kills over the course of the set.
• The JSU offense also got a boost from five aces in the stanza. Jackson State's front row had a solid defensive performance, blocking four North Alabama attacks in the stanza.
• Jackson State couldn't keep the rally going and fell in set four 25-16 to drop the match.
• The Tigers trailed by as many as 12 points as North Alabama grabbed the advantage for good at 2-1 and Jackson State wasn't able to recover in a set that was tied up just once before the Lions took over.

• James had a team-high 11 kills for Jackson State to lead the offense.
• JSU got a team-high 14 digs from Trinity Bryant while Alexis Williams finished with 11 digs.

Game 2: Jackson State vs. Central Arkansas

How It Happened

• Jackson State fell in a back-and-forth first set, losing 26-24 in a game that featured nine lead changes and was tied 13 times.
• Neither team led by more than four points in the match.
• A 25-19 second-set loss put Jackson State behind two sets to none in the match.
• JSU trailed by as many as six points as Central Arkansas grabbed the advantage for good at 11-10 in a set that was tied up three times before the Sugar Bears took over the lead.
• Central Arkansas finished off the sweep with a third-set victory.
• The Tigers fell behind on the first point and never took the lead before losing the set 25-4.

• Alexis Williams had a team-high two aces in the loss.
• Jayden James led the offense again with a team-high seven kills for Jackson State.
• JSU got a match-high nine digs from Trinity Bryant.
• Jackson State attackers were helped by a team-high nine assists from Naija Gadis.
