Tigers set to face Lane on Saturday in W.C. Gorden Classic

JACKSON, Miss. | Jackson State plays at Mississippi Veterans Memorial Stadium for the first time in 2024, hosting Lane for the W.C. Gorden Classic on Saturday, Sept. 7.

The game kicks off at 6 p.m. on the SWAC Digital Network.

The meeting between the two schools will be just the third in school history, but the first since 1972. Jackson State (0-1) leads the all-time series 2-0 including a 72-0 victory in the last meeting, with both meetings taking place in Jackson.

The Tigers look to rebound from a season-opening 30-14 loss to FBS-foe ULM on the road last Thursday night. The two teams traded touchdowns until the third quarter when the Warhawks took a one-score lead heading into the fourth quarter.
