JACKSON, Miss.| Jackson State announced its 2025 softball schedule Tuesday afternoon. The schedule features 25 non-conference matchups, two home tournaments, and a tournament in Honolulu, Hawaii.
Jackson State concluded the 2024 regular season 33-19 overall and 16-8 in SWAC. The Tigers won four in a row to claim the SWAC Tournament title capped by a 3- 1 win over Florida A&M. JSU faced LSU and California in the NCAA Regionals in Baton Rouge. La.
The Tigers will open the 2025 campaign hosting its annual River City Classic at the JSU Softball Field against Arlington Baptist (Feb. 7), Grambling State (Feb. 7), Mississippi Valley State (Feb. 8), and Alcorn State (Feb. 9).
JSU will then travel to Atlanta, Ga. to compete in the 2025 HBCU Classic. The Tigers will take on Hampton (Feb. 14), Coppin State (Feb. 14), North Carolina A&T (Feb. 15), South Carolina State (Feb. 15), and Claflin State (Feb. 16).
The Tigers take the road for back-to-back non-conference matchups at ULM (Feb. 18) and Southern Miss (Feb.19). JSU will host the Capital City Classic at the JSU Softball Field against Arkansas-Pine Bluff (Feb. 22), Tuskegee (Feb. 22), Grambling State (Feb. 23) and Arkansas-Pine Bluff (Feb. 23).
Jackson State will continue on the road with a trip to Honolulu, Hawaii to play in the Outrigger Invitational hosted by the University of Hawaii. The Tigers will open the tournament against Washington (Feb. 26-27), followed by a matchup with the host team Hawaii (Feb. 27). JSU will face Howard (Feb. 28) and Hawaii (Feb. 28) and close out the invitational against Hawaii (Mar. 1)
JSU will open SWAC play at home against Bethune-Cookman (Mar. 7-8). The Tigers will take on ULM (Mar. 12) in a mid-week matchup before travelling to Itta Bena to play Mississippi Valley State (Mar. 14-15). JSU will return home to host Alabama State (Mar. 21-22) for a weekend series at the JSU Softball Field.
The Tigers are set to travel to Thibodeaux, La. for another midweek matchup against Nicholls State (Mar. 26) before resuming conference play in Huntsville against Alabama A&M (Mar. 28-29).
Jackson State will briefly pause SWAC play to host Southeastern Louisiana (Apr. 1) for a doubleheader in Jackson, MS followed by a weekend series with Florida A&M (Apr. 4-5) at the JSU Softball Field.
The Tigers will hit the road for a matchup with Memphis (Apr. 9) and continue on to Montgomery to take on Alabama State (Apr. 12).
JSU will host its last home series against Mississippi Valley State (Apr. 18-19), then close out the regular season at Bethune-Cookman (Apr. 25-26).
The 2025 SWAC Softball Tournament will take place May 6-9 at the Gulfport Sportsplex in Gulfport, Miss.
