Jackson State Knocks Off Alabama A&M in Four Sets

Jackson, Miss.| The Jackson State volleyball continued its impressive run in conference play Sunday afternoon, defeating Alabama A&M 3–1 (20–25, 25–15, 26–24, 25–23) inside the Lee E. Williams Athletics and Assembly Center.

Jackson State recovered quickly after dropping the opening set, responding with three straight wins behind a balanced offense and one of its strongest blocking performances of the season. The Tigers finished with 57 kills, 16 team blocks, and seven service aces, hitting .238 as a team.

Outside hitter Jayden James delivered a dominant outing, recording a match-high 23 kills on .556 hitting along with 14 digs and an ace for 24.5 total points. Kyra Dove was outstanding at the net with 10 kills and eight total blocks, while Katejion Robinson and Kamiera Watkins each added key points in clutch moments.

Setter Karys Dove distributed the offense with 22 assists, four digs, and three service aces, while fellow setter Naija Gadis tallied 25 assists and an ace. Defensively, Kymorah Carter led with nine digs and two aces, and Makenzie Washington and Cierra Gilbert added crucial front-row contributions.
