BIRMINGHAM, Ala. | JaCobian Morgan and Quincy Ivory were each named weekly awards by the Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) on Monday afternoon.
Morgan was named the co-Offensive Player of the Week, winning the award for the third consecutive week, after Jackson State totaled 488 yards of total offense led by the graduate student who finished the night 16-for-23 passing for 191 yards for five touchdowns. He connected with six different receivers. He also finished the day with 66 yards rushing in leading Jackson State to its 12th consecutive victory over a conference opponent.
Meanwhile, Ivory was named the co-Defensive Player of the Week and Newcomer of the Week after his performance against Alabama State. He finished the day with 12 tackles including eight solo stops, while recording 0.5 tackle for loss and 0.5 sack in the win. He also recorded his first career interception, and the first of Alabama State quarterback Andrew Body this season.
