JACKSON, Miss. | Jackson State had three players in double figures in an 81-71 exhibition loss to Southern Miss at the Lee E. Williams AAC on Monday night.

Daeshun Ruffin led Jackson State with 25 points on the night, connecting on three three-pointers and connecting on 12-of-13 percent from the free throw line, while Dorian McMillian added 23 points on 6-of-16 shooting from the floor and 8-of-10 from the free throw line. Meanwhile, Jayme Mitchell Jr. finished with 12 points on 6-of-6 shooting from the free throw line.

Isaac Taveras finished with 20 points to lead Southern Miss, while Tylik Weeks finished with a double-double with 16 points and 10 rebounds.

Jackson State finished the night shooting 28.1 (16-of-57) percent from the floor and 25.8 (8-of-31) percent from beyond the arc for the game, while Southern Miss finished the night shooting 45.9 (28-of-61) percent from the floor and 25.0 (2-of-8) percent from beyond the arc. They also shot 74.2 (23-of-31) percent from the free throw line, while Jackson State finished the night shooting 81.6 (31-of-38) percent from the free throw line.

The Tigers shot 25.9 (7-of-27) percent from the floor and 23.1 (3-of-13) percent from beyond the arc. They also shot 77.8 (14-of-18) percent from the free throw line, while shooting 28.1 (9-of-30) percent from the floor and 27.8 (5-of-18) percent from beyond the arc. They also shot 85.0 (17-of-20) percent from the free throw line in the second half.
