TALLAHASSEE, Fla.| Cierra Gilbert totaled nine kills with a .533 hitting percentage, but the Jackson State volleyball team fell in five sets (25-18, 21-25, 25-23, 20-25, 15-17) to Southern Friday at Lawson Multipurpose Center and Teaching Gymnasium.
The Tigers were led by a double-double from Jayden James, who registered 21 kills and 16 digs on the day. Hope Briggs also added 11 kills to help the offense. On the defensive end, Giannelle Asomani chipped in for with 15 digs to go with eight blocks from Gilbert.
