JSU Takes Down Alabama A&M After Dropping First Set

HUNTSVILLE, Ala.| The Jackson State volleyball team stormed back after losing set one to secure a 3-1 victory (22-25, 25-18, 25-22, 25-20) over the Alabama A&M Bulldogs Sunday on the road at Elmore Gymnasium.

The conference win improved Jackson State's record to 12-12 overall and 11-3 in SWAC action.

The Tigers attack was paced by Kyra Dove, who finished with 12 kills on the day while accumulating a hitting percentage of .476, and by Jayden James, who had 12. got 10 digs from Giannelle Asomani to lead them defensively.

  • Jackson State never trailed on the way to winning the second set 25-18.

  • The Tigers hit .300 over the course of a set where they racked up 18 kills.
  • JSU took set three to make it a 2-1 match after picking up the lead for good at 22-21 in a set that featured six ties and six lead changes.
  • Jackson State claimed a match win with a 25-20 fourth-set victory, winning their third set in a row.
  • The Tigers grabbed control of the set at 4-3 and never looked back.
