Box Score COVINGTON, Ga.| The Jackson State softball team continues its winning streak with a 7-3 win over North Carolina A&T in the 2025 Leonard Moody HBCU Softball Invitational. The Tigers advance to 7-0 on the season with the win.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Jackson State (7-0) got on the board in the top of the first inning as Jace Jackson singled to center field to score Ka'Liyah Gipson.
- The Tigers went three up and three down in the bottom of the inning on defense as Sofia Gonzalez got the nod to start in the circle for JSU.
- Jackson State scored another run in the top of the third inning as Gipson's sacrifice fly brought Ariana Murrillo home.
- JSU increased its advantage to 3-0 in the top of the fourth inning on a double from Beija Allen that scored Ariah Hill (Meah Almaraz).
- The Tigers kept scoring by pushing three runs across in the top of the fifth inning taking a 6-0 lead over the Aggies.
- Jackson State scored its last run in the top of the seventh with an RBI double from Julie Lopez.
- North Carolina A&T tried to stage a comeback in the bottom of the seventh inning scoring three runs with two outs, but the Tigers defense finally shut the door to secure the 7-3 win.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
- Sofia Gonzalez (3-0) got the win in the circle for JSU after pitching all seven innings
- Gonzalez faced 32 batters only allowing three runs and eight hits.
- Jace Jackson led the Tigers at the plate with two hits.
- Beija Allen and Ka'Liyah Gipson each registered two RBIs on the day
- The Tigers finished with eight hits, seven runs and two errors.

The Tigers will close out the HBCU Softball Invitational with a matchup against Claflin. First pitch is set for noon EST.
