BIRMINGHAM, Ala. | Jackson State lefthander Eric Elliott has been named the Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) Pitcher of the Week for his performance over the weekend.
Elliott (3-0 / 3.23 ERA / 1.24 WHIP) made a pair of appearances including a start against Bethune-Cookman on Friday night in the series opener. In that contest, Elliott finished with a complete game effort in a 13-2 run-rule victory. He finished the contest pitching 7.0 innings and allowing a pair of runs (both earned) on only three hits, and struck out 13 batters. He also made an appearance out of the bullpen against Tougaloo with 0.2 scoreless innings.
Jackson State (14-9, 2-4 SWAC) returns home this weekend in a three-game series against Grambling State beginning Friday night.
