JACKSON, Miss. | The Tigers shut out the Panthers 4-0 in the first match of the SWAC Pod I on at home on Friday afternoon. 

Jackson State began the day winning the doubles point. Alejandro Pinilla and Federico Pickenstainer won their match with a 6-3 decision and the duo of Jhoan Vaquero and Fabrizio Fallas defeated their opponents 6-2 to give the Tigers the point. 

In singles competition, Pickenstainer carried his momentum from doubles play to win his match with a 6-0, 6-3 decision. Ching Chang Chiu claimed victory over his opponent with a 6-0, 6-4 decision.  Vaquero finished the day off for the Tigers with a 6-2, 6-2 victory.
