JACKSON, Miss. | The Tigers shut out the Southern Jaguars 4-0 on Saturday afternoon in the second match of SWAC play.
In doubles play, the team of Alejandro Pinilla and Federico Pickenstainer shined as they defeated their opponents in a 6-3 decision, securing the doubles point for their team.
Jackson State (3-8, 2-0 SWAC) built on its strong doubles performance winning three matches in singles play. Freshman Maas Schotanus won his first singles match of the weekend in a 6-1, 6-1 decision. Pickenstainer continued his strong play claiming a 6-0, 6-1 victory over his opponent. Fabrizio Fallas also won his match at number six to give the Tigers the victory.
