JACKSON, Miss. | Jackson State used a strong singles performance to defeat Prairie View, 4-0, Friday afternoon at JSU Tennis Center.
The Tigers started early with two wins by the duos of Paula Corbalan and Zeina Shaaban on court one and Zofia Dziewiecka and Daniella Tovar at number three. Corbalan and Shabaan won their match with a 6-4 decision, while Dziewiecka and Tovar won 6-2 to secure the win.
Jackson State made quick work of the Panthers in singles action with Kayleigh Didderiens, Chiara Desia, and Shaaban all earning victories. Didderiens dominated in her first set in a 6-0 decision and pulled out a hard-fought second set victory 7-5. Desia won both sets with a 6-1, 6-2 decision. Shaaban closed the day out for the Tigers with a 6-4, 6-3 decision at number two.
