JACKSON, Miss. | The Lady Tigers continued their winning ways as they shut out the Southern Jaguars 4-0 on Saturday afternoon in the second match of the SWAC Pod I.
Jackson State (4-7, 2-0 SWAC) won the doubles point courtesy of great performances by Zeina Shaaban and Paula Corbalan, Isabela Benavides, and Kayleigh Didderiens. Shaaban and Corbalan made short work of their opponents, winning their match with a 6-1 decision. Benavides and Didderiens claimed their 6-4 victory at number two.Â
Singles play was more of the same for the Tigers, with Corbalan and Didderiens winning their matches with identical 6-3, 6-2 scores. Chiara Desia also claimed victory in her match, defeating her opponent in a 6-0, 6-2 decision.Â
