TALLAHASSEE, Fla. | Jackson State came up short in the final game of the series falling to Florida A&M 11-6 in Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) action on Sunday afternoon.
Jackson State (16-14, 4-8 SWAC) battled back from an early deficit to take a 5-3 lead in the fifth inning with a four-run fifth inning before Florida A&M came back to take the lead in the bottom half of the inning. The Tigers were able to pull within a pair of runs in the seventh inning before Florida A&M (17-13, 11-1 SWAC) was able to pull away in the eighth inning.
The Tigers picked up nine hits in the loss led by Jordan McCladdie finishing 2-for-4 with a run scored and Wilbert Perez 2-for-4 with four RBI and a double. Erick Gonzalez (3-3), the first of four pitchers, suffered the loss in the start working 4.2 innings allowing six runs on four four hits with seven strikeouts. JeAndrick Lourens, CJ Lewis, and Eric Elliott combined to pitch the final 3.1 innings allowing five runs on six hits and combined for six strikeouts.

Perez singled to center field, 2 RBI; Joseph Eichelberger advanced to second; Alvarez scored; McCladdie scored, Jackson State 5-3.
- 5th inning - Justen Crews singled to center field, 2 RBI; Josue Figueroa scored; Campbell scored. Jordan Brown singled to center field, advanced to second on the throw, RBI; Crews scored, Florida A&M 6-5.
- 6th inning - Poppell homered to center field, inside the park, 2 RBI; Brown scored, Florida A&M 8-5.
- 7th inning - Perez grounded out to ss, RBI; Eichelberger advanced to third; Alvarez scored, Florida A&M 8-6.
- 8th inning - Brown homered to left field, 3 RBI; Niles scored; Crews scored, Florida A&M 11-6.
