Western Kentucky Edges Jackson State 1–0 in Defensive Battle

Box Score

Bowling Green, Ky.| An early goal proved to be the difference Thursday evening as Western Kentucky held off Jackson State, 1–0, at the WKU Soccer Complex. The Tigers open the season 0-3.

The Hilltoppers struck early, as Abby Wiedermann scored in the 4th minute off an assist from Georgia Liapis. Despite the quick start, JSU goalkeeper Valentina Goodloe kept the Tigers in the match with five saves, including three in the second half.
