FUQUAY-VARINA, N.C. | Jackson State running back Ahmad Miller has been named HBCU National Co-Player of the Week after his performance in the Hope Labor Day Classic that earned Offensive MVP honors.
Miller, a redshirt-sophomore from Memphis (Tenn.), carried the ball just 12 times, but ran for 180 yards and two touchdowns, averaging 15.0 yards per carry in the Tigers' 28-14 victory over the Pirates. His touchdown run of two yards with 5:32 remaining in the fourth quarter broke a 14-14 tie, giving the Tigers the 21-14 lead. He then put the game away with a 76-yard touchdown run with 4:00 remaining.
He will be highlighted on the nationally syndicated sports talk show BOXTOROW with Donal Ware which airs on radio stations across the country, including on WJSU in Jackson, and outside of the U.S. in The Bahamas and British Virgin Islands.
