JACKSON, Miss.| Jackson State Athletics released its 2026 softball schedule Thursday. The schedule features 23 non-conference match ups and a tournament at home to open the season.

Jackson State concluded the 2025 regular season 29-25 overall and 15-9 in SWAC. The Tigers finished second in the conference at the conclusion of the regular season and went on to secure its second consecutive SWAC Championship Title with a 3- 1 win over Florida A&M. JSU faced Alabama and Belmont in the NCAA Regionals in Baton Tuscaloosa, Ala.

The Tigers will open the 2026 campaign hosting its annual River City Classic at the JSU Softball Field against Arlington Baptist (Feb. 6). JSU will play Dallas Christian CC and Alcorn State (Feb. 7) at Key City Park in Vicksburg and return to the JSU Softball to close out the River City Classic against Grambling State (Feb. 8).

JSU will then travel to Belhaven (Feb. 11) for its first midweek match up of the season. The Tigers are set to compete in the East Texas A&M Tournament and will take on Missouri State (Feb. 13), Southeast Missouri (Feb. 13), Rhode Island (Feb. 14), East Texas A&M (Feb. 14), and Marist (Feb. 15).

The navy and white will host inner city opponent Belhaven (Feb. 18) for another midweek match up before opening play at the HBCU Classic in Montgomery, Ala. JSU is set to open the classic with South Carolina State and Alcorn State (Feb. 21). The Tigers will conclude with Lincoln (PA) and Claflin (Feb. 22).

Jackson State is then set to compete in the three-day Eagle Hub City Classic hosted by Southern Miss. The Tigers will open the tournament against Morehead State (Feb. 27 and 28), followed by a match up with Chattanooga (Feb. 28) and wrapping up the tournament with the hosts, Southern Miss (Mar. 1).

JSU will open SWAC play at home against Florida A&M (Mar. 6-7) at the JSU Softball Field. The Tigers will host Nicholls (Mar. 11) in a mid-week match up before traveling to Huntsville, Ala. to open a weekend series with Alabama A&M (Mar. 13-14). JSU will travel to Southeastern Louisiana (Mar. 17) before returning to conference action at home versus Bethune-Cookman (Mar. 20-21).

Jackson State will host Memphis (Mar. 25) for another midweek match up, then resume conference play at home against Mississippi Valley State (Mar. 27-28).

JSU is set to travel to Montgomery, Ala. to face Alabama State (Apr. 3-4). The Tigers will host Alcorn State (Apr. 7) at the JSU Softball Field and then travel to Daytona Beach, Fla. to play Bethune-Cookman (Apr. 10-11).

The Tigers will host Alabama A&M (Apr. 17-18), then conclude the regular season stretch with a road trip to Florida A&M (Apr. 24-25).

The 2026 SWAC Softball Tournament is scheduled to take place May 4-9 at the Gulfport Sportsplex in Gulfport, Miss.
