JACKSON, Miss.| The Jackson State softball team took a 10-1 lead in the first inning and never surrendered the advantage on the way to a 22-5 victory against the Arlington Baptist Patriots on Friday afternoon.
Brooklyn Morris (1-0) started in the circle and picked up the win for Jackson State. The left-hander went two innings, giving up one run on two hits. M. McDowell also made an impact in the circle for the Tigers, throwing one shutout inning while allowing no hits, with one walk and one strikeout.

- Jackson State (1-0) were trailing 1-0 in the first inning when they first put runs on the board.
- JSU's offense started clicking and put up 10 runs, including a one-run double off the bat of Meah Almarez.
