Softball Picks Up Two More Wins on Saturday

VICKSBURG, Miss.| The Jackson State softball team picked up two more wins over Dallas Christian and Alcorn State in the second day of the River City Classic. took a 4-2 lead in the first inning and never trailed from there on the way to a 15-5 win against Alcorn State on Saturday at Key City Park.

Madison McDowell (1-0) got the win for Jackson State. The right-hander went three innings, giving up two runs, both of them earned, on one hit, allowing one walk and striking out two. B. Morris also pitched well, going 1.1 innings, surrendering one run without allowing a hit, walking one and striking out two.

In the batter's box, the Tigers were led by Jace Jackson, who went 2-for-2 on the day with a double, a walk and two RBIs. Summer Tyes put together a noteworthy performance at the dish as well, going 1-for-2 with a home run, a walk and an RBI. Courtney Little also contributed for Jackson State, putting together two hits in three trips to the plate while adding two doubles and an RBI.

HOW IT HAPPENED
