COLLEGE PARK, Ga. | The Jackson State women's basketball team out-rebounded the Southern Jaguars 36-32, but fell 64-51 in the quarterfinal of the Southwestern Athletics Conference (SWAC) basketball tournament at The Gateway Center Arena at College Park Thursday.
The Tigers (12-19) had three players score in double figures, led by Derrica McCall, who had 12 points and two steals. Pierre-Noelle Tcheuhchoua added 10 points and seven rebounds and Angel Wilkinson chipped in as well with 10 points.

JSU forced 13 Southern turnovers. The Lady Tigers turned those takeaways into 13 points on the other end of the floor. McCall's two steals led the way for Jackson State.
How It Happened
- Jackson State (12-19) struggled out of the gate, falling behind 18-7 at the end of the first quarter.
- The Tigers continued to lose ground in the second quarter and faced a 38-16 halftime deficit.
- Southern continued to increase its lead after halftime, building a 40-16 advantage before Jackson State went on a 10-0 run to trim its deficit to 40-26 with 6:23 to go in the third. Southern countered and stretched its lead to 53-36 heading into the fourth.
- Jackson State took advantage of three Southern turnovers in the quarter, scoring six points off of takeaways.
- Southern kept widening its lead in the fourth, constructing a 64-44 advantage before Jackson State went on a 7-0 run to shrink the deficit to 64-51 with 48 seconds to go in the contest, a score which would hold for the rest of the game.
- JSU fired away from deep in the quarter, knocking down two shots to account for six of its 15 points.
