JACKSON, Miss. | Jackson State returns home to close out the regular season with a pair of games beginning with Arkansas-Pine Bluff at the Lee E. Williams AAC on Tuesday night.

Jackson State [9-20, 8-8 SWAC] and Arkansas-Pine Bluff [12-17, 9-7 SWAC] met in early February with the Golden Lions coming away with the win, however, Jackson State leads the all-time series 46-12. This season, the Tigers are led by Daeshun Ruffin in both scoring and assists, averaging 23.3 points [27.9 in conference play] and 5.5 assists per game [7.0 in conference play]. The senior guard. who recorded three consecutive double-doubles earlier this season, is joined in double figures by Jayme Mitchell Jr. at 14.2 points and 5.0 rebounds per game, while Dorian McMillian is averaging 11.8 points and 4.5 rebounds per game this season.

- Ruffin leads the conference in scoring, and is currently fourth in the country in that category. He is also in the top five in the Southwestern Athletic Conference in points, assists, and steals.
- Jalen Tatum made his presence known as he took the court for the first since Louisville in the second this season. He responded with 15 points off the bench for the Tigers in the win over Florida A&M.
- Mitchell had a breakout game against Mississippi Valley State [2.7.26], recording career-highs in scoring and rebounding. The redshirt junior scored 39 points and recorded 13 rebounds, his first career double-double.
- Mo Williams has two sons on the bench [at least at some point this season] with his son KyDarrius serving as a an assistant coach, while another of his sons - Mike - comes in as a highly-touted recruit from Germantown High School.
- The game at Houston [seventh] marked the fifth game against a nationally-ranked opponent after Jackson State has faced [ranked at the time] Illinois [17th], Louisville [11th], Auburn [20th], and Arkansas [14th] so far this season. That is the most ranked teams played in the conference. They have also played the second-toughest schedule in the country according to multiple sources.
- Ruffin, McMillian, and Mitchell combined for 69 of Jackson State's 91 points against Bethune-Cookman.
- Jackson State celebrated a big day on campus on Monday with SportsCenter on Campus in the morning and the game on Monday night, becoming the first HBCU to host College Gameday and SportsCenter on Campus.
- The Tigers played without Mitchell - teams' second-leading scorer - against Prairie View A&M [2.26.26], a game that went to overtime on a last second shot by Ruffin. They also played without McMillian - team's third-leading scorer - against Texas Southern [2.28.26].
- These two teams least met on Feb. 9 in Pine Bluff with the Golden Lions coming away with a 84-63 victory, however, Jackson State played without its leading scorer - Ruffin - for the second consecutive game.
- The Tigers find themselves in seventh place heading into this week, with the highest spot they can reach being fourth due to tiebreakers.
- The win by UAPB in the first meeting ended a 16-game winning streak by Jackson State in the series.
