JACKSON, Miss. | An explosive offensive output was not enough for Jackson State on Wednesday. The Tigers plated five runs, but could not hold the Memphis Tigers at bay, and were bested 8-5.
Jorgina Gant (5-4) got the ball to start for Jackson State (14-13) and took the loss.
At the plate, the Tigers were paced by Mackenzie Barney, who went 2-for-3 on the day with two RBIs. Gabrielle Willis furnished a standout effort as well, going 1-for-3 with a walk and an RBI. Sommer Tyes also chipped in for Jackson State, putting together one hit in three trips to the plate while adding a walk and an RBI.
