DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. | Three players picked up a pair of hits for Jackson State and the Tigers took a sixth inning lead, but it wasn't enough as Bethune-Cookman used three home runs to win its Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) series with a 5-4 victory on Sunday afternoon.
Pierre Cabral led Jackson State (13-16, 4-5 SWAC) at the plate, finishing 2-for-5 with a double and RBI; while Edwin Lemus Hudson Jr. finished 2-for-4 with a run scored. Tyshon Patty also finished with a pair of hits, finishing 2-for-3 with a run scored and RBI. Meanwhile, Hederick Torres finished 1-for-4 with a pair of RBI that gave Jackson State the lead in the sixth inning.
Jayden Lopez (3-2) suffered the loss in the start, working 7.0 innings allowing five runs on six hits with seven strikeouts before giving way to Jaedeyn Edwards who worked the final inning.

- 6th inning (top) - Patty singled to left field, RBI (1-1 BK); Hudson advanced to second; Cabral scored. Torres singled up the middle, advanced to second on the throw, 2 RBI (2-2 BKBK); Patty scored; Hudson scored; Jackson State 4-3.
- 6th inning (bottom) - Sergio Rivera homered to left field, 2 RBI (1-2 KSBF); Michael Rodriguez scored; Bethune-Cookman 5-4.
