MONTGOMERY, Ala. | The Jackson State men's tennis team secured its first conference win of the season against the Southern Jaguars on Saturday morning.
The duo of
Federico Pickenstainer and
Jhoan Vaquero started the day off hot with a 6-3 win in doubles play.
Ching Chang Chiu and Chen Hung Yu secured the doubles point for the Tigers with a 6-3 win at number one.
In singles play, Hung Yu continued the Tigers' momentum with a 6-1, 6-1 win over Zachery Byng, while senior
Gokalp Ayar earned a 6-2, 6-1 win at number three. Chiu finished by delivering the final point for the 4-0 win after a 6-4, 6-0 victory.

The Tigers face off against the Alabama State Hornets tomorrow at 10 a.m. in a rematch of last season's SWAC Championship.
