MONTGOMERY, Ala. | Jackson State women's tennis earned its first Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) win and its second straight win against the Southern Jaguars on Saturday morning.
Tiara Alvarez and
Daniela Tovar won the first match of the day for the Tigers, cruising to a 6-1 victory while
Victoria Linkovski and
Helen Hernandez secured the doubles point with a 6-4 win at number one.
Despite leading by a point early on, the Lady Tigers did not let up as senior
Isabella Benavides continued the momentum with a 6-1, 6-0 victory at number four. Linkovski followed up with a hard-fought 7-5 first set at number three, before finishing the match with a 6-2 win.
Mariia Iordanova wrapped up the day with a 6-4, 6-1 victory.
