Tigers fall in series finale at T-Mobile Park

SEATTLE, Wash. | Jackson State used a three-run eighth inning to cut the deficit to just two, but it wasn't enough as the Tigers fell to Seattle 6-4 at T-Mobile Park on Sunday.

Jackson State (9-8) fell behind 6-1 before Payton Boines connected for his first home run of the season before using a pair of doubles by Tyree Reed and Pierre Cabral trimmed the deficit to 6-4. The Tigers got a pair of runners on with one out in the top of the ninth before the final two outs were registered. Despite the loss, Jackson State won the series with wins on Friday and Saturday.

Reed finished 2-for-4 with a run scored and an RBI - with both hits coming as doubles - while Boines finished 2-for-4 with a run scored and an RBI.

Jayden Lopez (2-1) suffered the loss, working 6.0 innings and allowing four runs on four hits with four strikeouts.
