NEW ORLEANS, La. | The number one seed Jackson State women's tennis team opened the Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) Tennis Tournament with a quick 5-0 win against the eighth seed Mississippi Valley Lady Devilettes on Friday morning.

Isabella Benavides secured the doubles point for the Tigers with a 6-0 win at number two after defeating Lilly Gansauge and Nina Schiks.
The Tigers were given the second point by default before singles began. Benavides also scored a 6-0, 6-0 singles victory against Tori Carter.
Mariia Iordanova recorded her victory at number two in a 6-0, 6-0 decision, while Newcomer of the Year
Victoria Linkovski sealed the deal with a 6-0, 6-0 victory of her own to push Jackson State to the semifinals.
