BIRMINGHAM, Ala. | Jackson State dropped its second consecutive one-run game in the Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) Baseball Championships on Thursday afternoon, falling 8-7 to Texas Southern at Rickwood Field.
Shemar Harris finished 3-for-4 with an RBI and a run scored, while Tyree Reed finished 2-for-3 with a pair of doubles. He also drove in a pair of runs, scored one, and walked twice.Â
Talmadge Davis went 5.0 innings in the start allowing three runs on a pair of hits with seven strikeouts before giving way to Trae Burton in the sixth. Burton allowed a pair of runs on two hits in 0.2 innings before he gave way to Derek Arrocha for the final out of the inning. Arrocha (7-6) went 2.2 innings allowing three runs on six hits with three strikeouts.
